What is Houde Summit 2027?
The Houde School of Acting Summit is a 4-day, in-person, interactive weekend of acting classes, seminars, and networking!
Who Is It For?
Houde Summit is designed for actors of all levels. We've worked to create an event that has something for everyone, wherever you are in your acting journey. Join us for a jam-packed weekend of learning essential skills and tools while having fun and creating memories in a supportive community.

What To Expect
Opportunities to learn from industry pros who know how to navigate the business.
Small group interactive classes with each of the guest teachers. Each actor will work and receive constructive critiques from the teachers.
Guest panel discussion with a Q&A hosted by a representative of the Great Cleveland Film Commission. Prepare your best industry questions!
A social cookout with food, games, and all your new friends.

Take an opportunity to meet your teachers and fellow Summit attendees at Houde School of Acting in Downtown Cleveland.
Friday, August 20, 2027 – Day 1 Workshops
All actors will be placed into small groups and each group will work with a different guest teacher.
Saturday, August 21, 2027 – Day 2 Workshops
All actors will be placed into small groups and each group will work with a different guest teacher than the day before.
By the end of the two days, all actors will have had the opportunity to work with each guest teacher.

How do you prepare for a role before you ever step into the scene?
This immersive workshop takes actors through the process from personal preparation to active scene work, beginning with a full-group guided preparation session and continuing into an intimate Scene Study Intensive for a limited number of actors.
Morning: Warm-Up & Guided Preparation
The day begins with a two-hour group warm-up and guided preparation sequence focused on helping actors discover and strengthen the way they prepare for their work.
Participants should bring a character, scene, or script of their own choosing to work with during the session. Have an audition coming up? Working on something for class? Bring it! This is an opportunity to explore your preparation process using material that is relevant to you right now.
Afternoon: Scene Study Intensive
Following the morning session, a maximum of 20 actors will continue into an intimate Scene Study Intensive.
These actors will receive an assigned role and scene to focus on throughout the day, taking the preparation work from the morning directly into scene work. Each scene will receive a minimum of 30 minutes of focused attention, allowing time for individual direction, adjustments, exploration, and support.
Rather than rushing through scenes, this smaller format creates space for actors to dig into the material, make discoveries, take direction, and experience how thoughtful preparation can translate into more connected, specific work.

9:00–11:00 AM — Full Group Warm-Up & Guided Preparation
11:00-11:30 AM - Discussion on the work
11:30 AM–1:00 PM — Scene Study Intensive
1:00–2:00 PM — Lunch (Bring your own lunch)
2:00–5:00 PM — Continue Scene Study Intensive
Important: Participation in the morning session is required for all actors registered for the afternoon Scene Study Intensive. Afternoon participation is limited to 20 actors.
